The Westcott

Syracuse has been missing a mid-sized venue for awhile. The Lost Horizon opened back up recently helping to fill the void. This Sunday The Westcott opens providing another mid-sized venue. I took my tour of the place on Tuesday and found that THIS SUNDAY they are opening the space up. As part of the opening Merit was asked to play. The doors for the show are at 3 pm and they will be on around 5:30 or so. I don't know if there is a cover but if there is I'm sure it will be nominal.

The Westcott was an old cinema that was gutted. It reminds me of Showplace Theater in Buffalo. This space holds 700. They will do all ages shows (and some 21+ with the bar open). It's also within walking distance of Syracuse University. Come check the place out. It's nice to have another spot in town for bands.

Before you hit up The Westcott (524 Westcott Street, Syracuse, NY) you can check out the Westcott cultural fair. I'm going up to check out White Picket Fence live. I have yet to catch one of their shows so I'm stoked to see them. They play right before The Westcott opens somewhere right along Westcott Street. If you see me out and about feel free to come say hi or catch me at the show.
